I am not very technical but I’m trying to do some things using AI. Part of this AI wants me to open terminal or ssh onto my HA green. I installed the official terminal and ssh app but it does nothing and if i try to ssh to my green from my windows pc i get connection refused. AI is now telling me that the green has been built specifically not to expose these options. I have been going round and round for ages. Any help/info appreciated.
Did you configure a password in the ssh app?
But more importantly have you made a backup before letting AI guide you through something you don’t understand?
What is it you are trying to do as HA is not like a normal linux system and it may not work. There is very little need to use ssh in an HA server?
Rather than asking us about problems with your chosen solution to your problem, ask us about the actual problem.

You’re hearing a lot of skepticism and ire here. Mostly because what you’re asking for is basically the equivalent of handing a handgun to a child and telling them to run along now but be careful. I know you don’t mean it that way. But yeah it’s potentially that dangerous to your install so PLEASE USE CAUTION
First. I’m going to tell you woah there. While ai cN do a lot of cool things (and I absolutely have multiple ai connected to various systems at a deeper level than you’re asking)
You basically said the ai asked me to connect it to HA (you didn’t include - at a level that can issue ANY command.) Ok
But, do you know how to tell it.

Ai in current state are taught based on the postings they find on the internet. And some of that Is good some is.. Glue on pizza. Here’s my question.
If you’re not very technical and the ai tells you its gonna do a banner reset. You gonna let it? (see my issue here?)
If you connect an LLM directly to your HA filesystem or a bash shell of any kind on your HA box. That llm can do LITERALLY anything it wants. FULL Stop. (that includes exfiltrating your data, and formatting the platter.)
Please ensure you have planned accordingly and know how to operate responsibly.
You can do research with LLM inside HA without giving ssh to an agent I’d urge you to plan what you want to do and determine the best way before bllazin in guns ripping ssh on a HAOS box… The LLM has an unfortunate bad habit of handing out bad directions confidently if you’ve done nothing to prepare it for it’s subject matter with good research and grounding… especially ina fast moving system like HA.
