Before the new layout of making automations you could enter a designated time before the entry fired.
Example:
I only want the automation to fire when im home for the 2 minutes.
Now what happens:
my wife and I get a message we enterd the zone while we are together.
some automations fire directly even if we had to circle around because we cant find a parking spot (as an example)
Are you sure you aren’t confusing the options available in a Zone trigger with those available in a State trigger?

Now that I think of it, maybe
But the question remains, for trigger and conditions.
Why can’t I set a time before before the trigger/comdition are met.

You can, with a state trigger… Are you sure you’re using the proper trigger here? Zone triggers are events, they won’t have a duration attached to them because leaving or entering a zone is a moment in time. Using the zone entity in a state trigger, you can trigger off someone being home for a duration.
