I’m a newby with Home Assistant and spend many hours/days figuring out why my LimiteLess LED configuration was giving no response at all. Read many/all items I could find in the community and on the internet but none solved the issue for me. I think I figured it out and wanted to share it for people having similar issue.
As far as I’ve seen this has not been reported and if so unfortunately missed it. I figured it out after tracing the traffic of the milight 3.0 app on a rooted phone and I did not see 0x80 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x11 in the preamble. But saw 0x83 0xpp 0xpp 0x00 0x11. And the pppp was my pin code I typed in years ago. I was not aware anymore there was a pin code. The default is indeed 0000. I changed the pin code in the iBox2 using the milight app but nothing happened. I could not figure this out but I assume a core restart does not harm. As it it is working now as it should. Changing the pin code something else then 0000 even makes it reproducible.
So just because I was not aware of the pincode between the iBox2 and MiLight3 app also never figured that could be an issue.
For me it solved the issue with a very simple/fast workaround but there were moments I thought why bother it just does not work.
Workaround: Set pin code back to default 0000 (probably a factory reset will do as well)

Open milight 3 app
-
Slide left on the iBox2
-
change password
-
Enter old password (hope you have it)
-
Set new to 0000
The rest in HA as suggested, default version 6, default port 5987 (verify iBox2: UDP/5987)
And then there finally was light in the dark 
I’m not aware the pincode/password can be configured in HA as in theory there should/could be an configuration item (improvement) (under host).
