I made a group of lights. Then I wanted an automation to turn off the group. But I can only put DEVICES in the action, not a group. Why not? The Group has an ID and is to be treated more or less like a device, right? So now if I want to turn off the group, I have to know what is in the group and turn those off. But if I later want to add another thing to the group, I will have to remember that the automation needs to be updated to include that too.
You will need to use a Service call: light turn off, and not use device as action.
Device is just that… a device.
