Why update Host system: Release notes on Hassos updates?

Hi,

Found out that my 2 Hassio systems could update their Hassos… have a system still on Hassio 84.3 and one on Hassio 92.2.

The former runs on Hassos 1.12 and the latter on HassOs 1.10.

I read about many issue updating this Host system, (never realized the had to be updated manually, so figured they were hardware related, and didnt bother)

checking https://s3.amazonaws.com/hassio-version/stable.json shows I should be on 2.12 ! Must have missed a few.

Before clicking the button however, I’d like to know what happens, and if we get a option to opt out. Also, are release notes for these update available ? Id like to read before updating… Why should I update in the first place, system run fine as far as I can check, not knowing what I am missing out on of course

Thanks for any pointers

One reason to update might be the version of Python. Support for an older version is being completely removed next major version.

In other words although things are running fine now they may cease to run after upgrading HA.

Believe Hassio users shouldn’t worry about that, will go automatically:
