Widgets for iOS/macOS - Change size? More customization?

Hello, my goal is to setup a widget with quick access to some things in my office. I first did this via Apple Home and it works well, but is limited to on/off toggles. You can’t adjust the brightness of a light, or the speed of a fan from the widget. Having these controls on my macOS desktop would be super convenient, so I gave the Home Assistant widgets a try, but was left even more disappointed.

I thought it would be as simple as creating a small dashboard and selecting that to be displayed within the widget, but found that was not possible and had to create scripts for each button.

Here is an example of something I created in my dashboard:

Here is best I could do with widgets:

The buttons in the Home Assistant widget take up way too much space and there doesn’t seem to be any settings to customize it aside from the order, icon, and color. Is there any way to tweak the widgets further so I can make the buttons more compact or dynamic?

Thanks.

Stop, is it a widget or a card?)

I’m referring to iOS Widgets, to be exact.

I’m with you. I wish the Home Assistant iOS widgets were a lot more capable and customizable. I’d love to essentially have a dashboard card from the Home Assistant UI replicated within an iOS widget.
