So as I’ve added more and more 2.4ghz esp8266 devices I’ve noticed my 2.4 network become slow and need soft reboots (software reboot every morning at 4am kinda helps, but it seems to get patchy again after a few hours)
I have TP-Link TL-WR2543N/ND v1 with openwrt 17.01.4 with 14 devices.
I’m going to try trying debug off on the esphomelib sensors I have, see if the reduced load helps.
Looking for someone with same or more devices and what your running
I ran into a similar issue as I added a lot of WiFi devices. I ended up upgrading my router and WiFi access point and the issues were gone.
Just putting the touting function of the combo router/switch/access point that I had fixed the issue with stability. Moving to a new access point was just for better speed.
So for those that come across this ( as i hate having posts that just stop, or even worse some posts “fixed it” but not how)
I upgrade my 2.4 GHZ AP to openwrt 18.04 (the latest at this time) and also noticed that debug had been left on on all my sensors. I turned the debug off, so i just get MQTT info messages.
After 3 days these seems to have helped, tho my microwave still makes half my devices grind to a halt
