I have been messing with my Z2M setup to try and get my Aqara devices to work on my HA setup for weeks now. I’ll pair them exactly at the place they are going to live, configure them in my HA and without fail about 3/4s of them won’t update a few hours after pairing. Its never all of them and its not always the same ones. I have about 30 Aqara devices mostly humidity sensors, Water leak and doors and window.
My Zigbee coverage should be good i Have 4X SonoffS40Z Plugs spread out around my house as repeaters, my SONOFF Dongle Plus-E is on a USB extension well away from my server rack.I’ve tried maybe 8 different Zigbee channels, used a wifi scanner to make sure the one I am on looks open.
Would adding any f the Aqara hubs help with my issue of devices not updating after a few hours or days?
The hubs will not help z2m. The hubs are their own coordinator, and you can only have one coordinator per net, so they will not work in conjunction with z2m.
I would look at the ZBDongle-E or the S40’s.
Z2M has numerous reports of ezsp issues. Several ezsp updates went into this month’s release, so try it if you haven’t already. I think the E works great for many, but when it doesn’t it can be hard to debug.
Anecdotally, I had one S40 plug and started having problems with some devices shortly after adding it to the net that was previously rock solid. Swapped the S40 out with a Sengled zigbee plug and all has been well since.
It would be unfair to lay blame any one device. It is often a combination of devices each with their own quirks that just don’t play well together.
