Will Bindings created using ZHA still work without coordinator and HA up and running?

Hello,
I am planning on getting a zigbee stick for sensors such as door contacts, temperature and humidity sensors or motion detectors, and also my existing Phillips Hue lights and a dimmer switch from Hue (which are currently used over the bridge via Hue integration).

I’ve seen that direct bindings between devices can be created in ZHA, which, I assume, are really directly from remote to device and thus still work in the case of a HA downtime or coordinator failure.

Am I right in my assumption?

Best regards
Aaron

Thanks, so these work even if I pull out my Zigbee Stick from the HA host?

I use Zigbee2MQTT, and have a binding between an IKEA switch and an IKEA bulb. I can still toggle the bulb when HA is down.

Thanks for your help @francisp

I would ask a similar question, would it work even if coordinator down?

Hello,
I have recently installed a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 Dongle via ZHA and my first test was unplugging the stick and then checking if the HUE Remote I bound to some lights (also Hue) still works, and

It DOES indeed work even with coordinator unplugged

Best regards
Aaron
