In my ewelink app (on the smartphone), they all show up and work fine. They are in daily use, activating lights etc.
In Home Assistant, there is an ewelink integration, and here’s where the wierdness pops up.
All my devices that are setup in ewelink, appear in HA as expected, and show up in the ewelink tab, as expected. BUT…only ONE of the sensors “works” in that tab/Home Assistant. The other two are greyed out and say: “Device is not supported currently”.
I include two screenshots from Home Assistant’s Ewelink tab.
You will note the “Garage Door” sensor works, but the “Walk In Closet” and the “Bar” sensors have that message.
Had to install HACS, all good.
Installed sonoffLAN, all good.
Solved…all sensors showing up.
Thanks a stack dude!
But wait…there’s more…
So, the reason I wanted to have these sensors in HA, was mainly to monitor their batteries, and have an alert when batteries get low.
So…via the Ewelink integration/add-on, one showed up, but the other two didn’t…right?
Via sonoffLAN, all show up…but… the two that didn’t show up in Ewelink, have battery percentages, all great, automations on them…everything cool…yet, the one that DID workk through Ewelink, is now NOT showing any battery percentage anymore…it is showing a bettery VOLTAGE!!!
AAARRRGGGHHH!!! This stuff kills me!
Anyways…again, thanks for the help…It did certainly work better thn the ewelink add-on.
Also, I was able to add the “odd” sensor battery voltage thing by simply setting its automation to trigger when voltage goes below 2.2 (apparently, based on the two AAA alkaline’s that it uses, the voltage range is between 2.0 (dead) and 3.2 (all fired up). So, I seleceted 2.2 as the notification voltage.
It’s just SOOOO frustrating…these little quirks that waste hours of one’s time
Cheers
