Wink dropping in and out

Hey all, I’m new here but I’ve been enjoying Home Assistant so far. Its a great application!

My prior setup used a wink hub to turn on a GE Link light at sunset. Now my old rPi1 is running HA. I’ve got the commands down to automate that with HA and its working great…

…Except wink doesn’t seem to play very nice. My Wink used to be very reliable until I linked it to Home Assistant. Now it drops on and off the network multiple times a day. I’d contact Wink about it, but the problem only started happening once I connected it to HA. Was curious if other people had similar problems or if I’d missed a simple “gotcha” during setup.

Thanks for any assistance!

I haven’t seen this with mine. You didn’t move your hub or wireless router lately?

Do you have local_control enabled in your Home Assistant config? If you do I guess you could try turning it off.

If you don’t, Home Assistant doesn’t talk to the hub at all. It only talks to Wink’s API which wouldn’t cause problems to your hubs connection.

Ah, that is good to know. I didn’t mess with any of the default settings with Hass.io, so it probably isn’t local control. But this means that its looking more like a problem with the wink hub specifically. I’ll see what their support says about the matter.

Thanks for giving me some input!
