Hi
I have, for some time, been tearing down cheap wifi plugs and re-flashing the ESP8266 with ESPHome. The last couple I bought have the new W600 micro from Winner Micro. Has anyone been able to flash new firmware onto these?
I’ve been looking into flashing these as well.
It seems to have the same pinout as Tuya E2S, see here. Worst yet, it seems that GPIO0 is not exposed, so it cannot be switched into flashing mode.
Didn’t get much further than that so far.
Yes. I came to much the same conclusion. I suspect there must be an OTA method of adding custom firmware.
tuya-convert might actually work.
I managed to make the plug connect to its WiFi hotspot. My Tuya firmware is version 3.3, which is too new, so the TLS connection fails - until the good folks behind that project manage to crack that key. You can try it, in case you have an earlier firmware. Hopefully flashing Tasmota won’t brick it.
Hello, any news ? OTA flash possible ?
