I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a wireless zigbee hub that I can connect to home assistant indirectly through my wifi network.
For my setup I have my HA device away from my apartment and zigbee devices. (in a network room with switches and modem)
I thought of using the Sonoff bridge and flash it with tasmota but I see it has a 32 device limit? Is this true after flashing it as well?
To sum up, if you can guide me on a recommended zigbee hub that can:
1- connect to HA over wifi network
2- can handle ~45 devices or more
Thank you in advance.

Is a COTS hub a requirement?
If not, a RPI + Zigbee2MQTT + any supported stick would do the trick…

What is COTS?
Would RPi zero work? Because I have one laying around.
I’d rather not use Rpi4 or 3 since that would be the same as deployong HA in one and then plugging a Zigbee gateway to it. Secondly, Rpis cost so much where I am from, I end up paying shipping+taxes that equal the board itself.

I can recommend the TI LAUNCHXL-CC1352P-2 with a USR-TCP232-T2 Ethernet to serial converter and PoE splitter.

Wlkanos:
COTS
“Commercial Off-the-shelf”, something that you buy ready to use without tinkering.
Wlkanos:
Would RPi zero work
I guess:
“If you are using a Raspberry Pi 1 or Zero”
