I got some BTF-LIGHTING FCOB SPI RGB Flexible High Density LED Strip COB WS2811 IC LED Strip 5M 630LEDs/m setup the other day I got them into Home Assistant too and added them to my automations to come on when I go into that room, which works great.
Except they do not do it the first time the power supply seem to cut off so I have to go to my Mains Power socker and unplug it then plug it back in then in WLED App on my mobile, I have to turn it on for the first time.
Then the automation works fine until the next day, and its the same again!
Is there anything I can do to fix these issues in HA or the Dig-Quad-V3 or the power supply I have?
If it stooped working and this device became unavailable then it is wifi issue. If you have vlan ssid and that device is on it then it might be firewall issue.
It becomes unavailable at a certain time that I tell it too in HA that is why it goes off not because of wifi I have 100 of thgings in the kitchen that work with no issues ar all on wifi
I don’t know what does this mean in your terms. Is it in the same room as router? In different room or somewhere else.
I mean it is a lot of variables in question.
I have bosh diswasher that is on vlan ssid. It became unavailable few day ago and I could not reconnect it. I done reset on dishwasher and brought it back to vlan ssid it was on. And now is working fine.
Bottom line, this are all wifi devices and they sometimes start to act strangely.
If nothing works try to reset it. If it doesnt have reset button, remove it from ha, restart ha and add it again.
Im just talking about my experience as I’m using vlan ssid. That is basically separate wifi networks that have different rules ie. if device is on vlan ssid it cant access main lan or talk to devices on the same ssid or any other device.
Maybe you have electrical problems. It is hard to tell from your post.
Neither. I don’t know what is going on.
If device is becoming unavailable and you said that it lost power then probably you have electrical issues. Maybe something is not wired as it should be.
So you wired it by yourself.
Maybe you wired it incorrectly maybe video was wrong on wiring.
But just use common sense. If device is loosing power and you noticed it then something is wrong with power supply.
Well then you wired it wrong.
Or device by it self is defective and not to be used by your power supply. Maybe it does work in China but not in your country.
You will have to address this to the seller and tell him what is going on. Maybe he can give you more info.
nothing to do with seller they don’t support HA I’m thinking it may be to do with once it goes off the power supply goes into standby mode and wled does not know ho to tell it to come out of it thats seems like it to me the way its being!
It doesnt matter.
If you have power supply issue then it is on the device or your power supply.
It have nothing to do with home assistant. Ha is just working with what you provided. If you provided defective device it will not work with ha or any other smart home system.
Call the electrician. Or if it some cheap power supply just dump it and buy another.
But this time spend more money on quality products.
Chinese do have it, but they don’t sell it for cheap.
