I’m starting to feel festive and am thinking that it would be nice to put some lights in the two trees in our front garden.
Now, I could just get some regular Christmas lights and connect them to a smart plug, but I was wondering if I could do something more interesting. I haven’t played much in the WLED world but wondered if anyone could recommend any lights, power supplies etc which were suitable for the rigours of winter weather (and available in the UK/Europe) and had flex which was appropriate for stringing up in trees…
Well, not really… in the end I went for my original idea and just got a whole load of outdoor lights and a smart plug!
For what it’s worth, I can definitely recommend the Pro Connect lights from lights4fun.co.uk. I bought quite a lot, and then went back the following year and bought more. Very robust. Pro Connect Explained | Lights4fun.co.uk
Nothing smart about them at all, but thanks to HA they did turn on automatically when the sun’s elevation dropped below a certain value, and switched off when we went to bed and set the alarm.
Thank you - I’m thinking I need to do the same. I wanted something cool with WLED but there’s chance it would get stolen so looking for cheap and cheerful.
