Woox devices compatible?

Hi all

I’ve been trying to work out if any Woox devices are controllable with Home Assistant? I searched Google and the forums but couldn’t find anything. In particular I’m wondering about the Woox WiFi Smart Plug.

Thanks!

A quick googling suggests it might be using the tuya app for control, if so there is a tuya component for home assistant.

It is cloud based though, so far from ideal.

I bought some Woox Smart Plugs in the AZ black friday sale. They just arrived today so tonight I can try setting them up and see if there is someway to get HA talking to them.

I have the device in my Woox account and linked to Google Home. Tried adding it to HA using the Tuya integration and that accepts my credentials but doesn’t list any devices. On the page for Tuya setup it mentions an optional setting for which service we’re using, but Woox isn’t one of them. Not sure if we’re out of luck.

Does the device work with the tuya app?

I set mine up with the Tuya app instead of the woox app and they are now working with HA 100%
Thanks @nickrout

Excellent ideas, I’ve also got mine working with the Tuya app instead of Woox. Strange why they have two identical apps just with different branding

There are more than 2! jinvoo, smartlife and on it goes.

How have people added them to Tuya app? Mine won’t play ball

does anymone succeed in adding device like a door sensor ?

I added mine in the tuya app, but HA does not detect it

Hi, I’m also interested in adding the Woox R7070 Smart Wireless Gateway. And connect the R7049 Smart Zigbee Smoke Alarm & the Woox R7047 Smart Door & Window Sensor to it.

Any idea if the Woox R7070 Smart Wireless Zigbee Gateway is compatible using the Tuya integration in HA?

Hi

I reopen this topic.
I’d like to use WOOX R7049 smoke detector which is compatible with Zigbee 3.0.
So I suppose it can be used in HA with a gateway like the ZiGate (I don’t want to use Tuya).
Do you have used “WOOX R7049 + ZiGate” and then in HA ?

Christophe

Looks like it is probably possible in zigbee2mqtt

Hi @nickrout
Thanks for the link.
For the moment I’ve only used zwave devices from Fibaro. I’m satisfied except it isn’t possible to update Fibaro’s devices without their gateway. So, I’m looking for other kind of devices, maybe cheaper.
About Zigbee: I don’t understand why a gateway like ZiGate isn’t sufficient with HA and we have to use mqtt.
Regards
Christophe

There are three ways to get zigbee into HA, zigbee2mqtt is only one of them. zigbee2mqtt is easyish to adapt for unsupported devices, as you can see from this issue and the z2m docs https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/issues/4951

Hi,
Did anyone succeed in integrating the WOOX R7049 smoke detector in HA?
Through for example zigbee2mqtt or another solution?

Well the person on github who had one wouldn’t add it to zigbee2mqtt but it shouldn’t be hard.

Well I’ve ordered 4 pieces … I will give it a try

Did you finally manage to integrate them with z2m?

Unfortunately I wasn’t able test it yet. I’m still waiting for my Home Assistant Blue to arrive. Already waiting some months. It seems I will receive it in August :frowning:
At this moment they are connected just in the Tuya app, but I really hate it.
