Word wrap long text in groups

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if there was a way of forcing word wrapping for text in groups? Some of my friendly text is too long causing half the text to be truncated:

Any way this can be solved?

Not without a custom card. Why do you want to have the range on the names anyways?

Also, side note, i’ve found the best way to organize things to get names to appear properly is to break things out in groups. In your case, I’d have 2 groups; Master Bedroom Plants, and Study Plants.

Master Bedroom Plants

Moisture (x-x)
Fertility (x-x)
Sunlight (x-x)
Moisture… again(x-x) (think you need to name this temperature?)

Study Plants

Moisture (x-x)
Fertility (x-x)
Sunlight (x-x)
Moisture… again(x-x) (think you need to name this temperature?)

Thanks for the info @petro. Is there a custom card that you know if that I could use and how hard would it be to implement and maintain?

The range is there for me to know what a good range should be for each measure… otherwise hard to know just by looking at some of the numbers.

I would prefer to keep them in the same group if possible… just a preference for me.

Also you’re right on the moisture sensor… just a copy and paste issue

I’m not sure, I’ve never created a custom card. If you have programming experience, it will be as hard as learning a new language. I’ve avoided it because I don’t understand the links between HTML, JS, and CSS. (Technically learning 3 new languages).

Ah fair enough. I’ll take a look at it then. See if I can just modify this using custom CSS.

You can do what you want to do if you use the custom_state_card_ui by @andrey.

https://github.com/andrey-git/home-assistant-custom-ui/blob/master/docs/features.md#you-can-add-extra-data-below-the-entity-name

I use it for displaying the state of my z wave devices battery.

However the only caveat that I might think of is that to my knowledge it doesn’t work with lovelace.
