Works with Home Assistant logo on all Matter certified products

Check out the section:
End-to-End Certification and Testing:

A great way to get "Works with Home Assistant " logos on more products would to accept the Alliance Interop Lab test results for Matter devices.

In this way, so long as a device is certified for Matter, manufacturers would automatically qualify for the Works with Home Assistant branding.

Thoughts?

Hi Isaac,

It’s more than that. The mfgr has to provide firmware updates for devices on the HA servers so HA can update them when needed, and there is a whole list of other things as well. I have not seen the list, but I know a company going thru the process now and they are a couple of months into it.

I do not think HA have servers for Matter updates.
I think HA use the CSA DCL update service.

Why do they require the vendors host the firmware? Doesn’t that go against the point of providing firmware update URL’s in the DCL?

The question is if the Matter certification require firmwares to be available into. The CSA DCL.

I have issues with Onvis S4 smart plugs.
Onvis informa users to upgrade the plugs with a certain firmware, due to a critical failure, but they have only provides that faulty firmware to the CSA DCL.
Because Onvis only use Apple platforms in their vendor specific upgrade process, when ch I do not have, then I can not upgrade the firmware.

That’s the official word on the program.

You decide what it says and why.

Probably more about money and charging them to use the logo and to assure that if they use the HA logo on the product, it actually does what it says it does to HA’s standards.

A bit different than the Tuya logo, for instance.

Buying something with the Tuya logo is like buying a box of chocolates, quoting Forrest Gump.
