Would M5stack atom echos work for my kids Bluetooth headphones?

I’m trying to find a way to cast to my kids Bluetooth headphones. They fall asleep listening to music/meditations etc but often need to listen to different things.

My current solution is to just use their phones to play whatever to their Bluetooth headphones, but this causes problems with things like Audible where I don’t want to log in to my account on their phone because it gives them access to things that aren’t appropriate for them.

Could I buy two atom echos, connect one of the headphones to each, and cast the different media to the atom echos?

Any other solutions that might work?

As far as I know, ESPHome doesn’t support audio playback via a connected Bluetooth devices. You could only use the speaker to play the audio.

You could achieve this with Squeezelite-esp32, but I never used this. There is another discussion about that topic:

I am diving into this pretty new to doing anything of value in HA and certainly new to ESPHome… but I think that speakers are not BLE devices and I think BTProxy only supports BLE devices currently… and more specifically BLE devices that have direct device integration in HA. Another solution that comes to my mind is to buy two Raspberrys, install a media player on them and connect the headphones via Bluetooth.
