Hi everyone, I am wondering if this HP computer would be an upgrade over the Raspberry Pi 4 (4gb) that I’m currently running HA supervised on? What are your thoughts? Pros / cons thank you!!
For sure it would be better and faster than RPi. 4 cores running at 1.8GHz and 4GB is a very respectable HA setup.
If you get rid of windows it should be fine.
The HP computer in question is a all in 1 PC / Monitor. Would the monitor be able to display my Lovelace? Thanks
If you are running supervised you can run X and then a browser, so yes.
If you are not a competent Linux user I would discourage you from using supervised, unless you want to dive deeper into the tech side of things and have oodles of time to experiment.
If you are not a very competent tech user or do not have too much time in your hands, use HAOS (less tech hassle and frustrations over the short and long run), in which case you will not be able to display for anything except for the HA CLI.
He is already running supervised - keep up.
OK got it -
Thank you guys, I am sticking with my RPi 4 for now because it hasn’t let me down yet and with the Home Assistant Yellow being PRi 4 based I’m thinking things will only get better for Pi users. Always keep my eyes open for a good priced NUC though.
