WTF is GE_Appliance ZLL Light

Using ZHA every XX random number of weeks/months I get one or more phantom “GE_Appliance ZLL Light …” appearing in my list of Zigbee devices. The details for these devices are always unavailable and I can’t easily find any link between them and any real Zigbee device I have installed/configured.

I otherwise have IKEA, Sonoff, Tuya/TZ3000, Lumi, 3A Smarthome and a single Philips outdoor motion sensor in my Zigbee list.

Has anyone else seen something like this happening?

So what kind of appliances do you have at home? Just asking because my daughter-in-laws Samsung fridge shows up as a wifi access point when I show up there with my laptop.

ZLL is likely ZigBee LightLink. GE made their Link bulbs and hubs that used ZLL starting around 2014. Much like their current BT-based CYNC bulbs, they had limited compatibility with devices outside GE’s Link/Wink ecosystem.

It’s possible one of your neighbors is just using the bulbs as normal bulbs and they pop up when they’re turned on, then show up as “unavailable” because the switch is turned off or just because they aren’t compatible ZHA.
