Android and iOS provide all kind of sensors…but not the one to use HA to actively wake the screen or sleep it’s screen.
And…some Android tablets have a proximity sensor build in. Would also be very useful as sensor for HA.

Hmm interesting didn’t know that. BTW not possible to add this screen on/off command as a switch just like the other entities the companion app creates on the tablet? Makes it easyer to use.
Think i’m gonna connect the screen off/on to a motion sensor, so save energy. Let see if it works
