It would be nice to have a “permanently skip update” button on the update screen. As example Spotcast had a ton of beta updates lately and every new update (often multiple a day) would trigger a new update option to appear.
Or similarly with Zigbee2MQTT, every time I reboot HASS it shows some Ikea devices (which I don’t want to update due to differences in behavior) again and again.
I’m not sure if it needs a separate WTH but another thing I’d like have is to skip all update notifications from one integration like ESPHome. In most times there is no point to update all ESPHome devices but skipping update for all of them one by one is also very annoying.
That’s also a great idea Tho would say it may be worth its own topic as well so people can vote on it separately and the mods/devs seeing this properly instead of it being burried here ^^
I’ve mentioned in another thread but for some reason various and random ZHA devices keep popping up an update repair repeatedly even tho I click on “skip” repeatedly.
If I click skip on any repair it should stick and not keep bugging me multiple times a day.
I know it came across as it happening all the time but to be honest it’s not really.
It started happening in March for my Third Reality Devices and that’s when I posted a “anyone else seeing this?” thread.
Shortly after posting that the update notifications stopped. But Then later started again for a while and then stopped again for a few months.
but after I installed another Third Reality plug the update notifications started happening again. Sometimes they would pop up a couple of times a day, sometimes once a day, or sometimes every couple of days. As of right now I have seen an update pop up for 2 or 3 days.
the last time they started spamming me the spamming stopped as suddenly as it began. And then it started up again just as suddenly but only on the latest Third Reality plug I installed.
So I’m not sure how to write something like that up for my situation since it’s very random and intermittent.
I added it here since it seemed like now it wasn’t just related to ZHA and Third Reaity stuff.
I only have 1 repair that does this, and it’s because it’s created by an old addon that doesn’t properly register the offending entity on restart. That could be the same as you. Basically many of these repairs need a config entry or something persistent to maintain through restarts, it somewhat applies to it reappearing again. Either way, I’d create an issue.
