WTH are automations fully collapsed when opened (or switched from yaml-edit)

Especially with complex automations I find it pretty annoying that all actions are collapsed. For example, if I use a chooser to do different things the only thing I see when I open the automation is the single chooser-action.

Don’t get me wrong, I do think that the ability to collapse a step (action, condition or trigger) and the auto-alias function is pretty good. But I think the default level should be all expanded up until the final action. Aka, all aliases are shown but not the action/condition/trigger details. This way it is easier to see the overall flow of the automation (or script) and edit the desired part.

This would also make it way easier to switch back and forth between the GUI and YAML.

From other side, some people tend to learn things “from general to specific”.

You still do that because I suggest to keep the details collapsed. And a collapsed item does not take up to much space.

Although I still think it would be great if the flow diagram from the automation trace would also be visible when you edit an automation (or script).
