WTH can I not see/adjust my meter total(s) in the Energy Tab

  1. WTH can I not compare the real meter total to reported totals in the Energy Tab so that I can ensure that my consumption stays in sync.

  2. Some meters are prone to showing totals that inherently accumulate errors as they do not read the meter values, but only measure consumption increments. For instance when the electrical power consumption is measured through the light pulse (1Wh/pulse), or electrical pulse (an amount of consumed gas for each pulse). For several reasons, such as when changing the batteries, or missed pulses, these meters get “out of sync” even after taking care that the initial total is close to the shown total.
So WTH can’t I adjust the totals to the actual meter reading interactively.

  3. WTH aren’t the consumption values associated with the right dates? Some integrations get the consumption and metering values from the power providers, but there is a delay of several days, and sometimes even more and the data gets transmitted for several days in one session. Then the consumption for three days on last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are all assigned to Friday, the day they were retrieved. WTH can the consumptions not be assigned to the days they were actually consumed at?

Point 3 is integration specific and you should mention which one does it. Normal sensor values are always current ones and you can’t go back and change the history. However, it is still valid WTH

Point 3 is not integration specific as HA does not allow integrations to (easily) set consumptions/state values at a given date.

And “easily” means that the other method is most likely to do direct database operations which might bypass the algorithms used for the Energy panels that might not adjust the totals as expected.
