Would be nice to be able to tweak these in the UI but I like to have them organised in YAML packages. You could even have the YAML package file name as a “tag” for the automation in the UI
We can’t edit manually managed YAML (as we can’t keep up/preserve things like formatting, comments, anchors, and many other things that are native to YAML but not in the result Home Assistant uses and can use).
The good news is, though, the automation editor will be able to open any automation as of Home Assistant 2022.10, at least for viewing.
I think it’s not about being able to edit the packages we created in yaml, but the organization structure that someone can use in packages.
To be able to put scripts, helpers and automations into a folder that are about the same topic.
There is a different topic on that, I don’t read that from the above to be honest.
