WTH cant lovelace offer "popups"

I am installing wall tablets with limited screen real-estate and would love to be able to conserve space by utilizing the ability to click a button and pop a dialog box or other card to collect input values or display a customized detail. I’m envisioning something similar to the ‘more info’ behavior but displaying a card that can be configured via lovelace.

I think this would be great for mobile views and panels to save screen real-estate.

Isn’t that what the custom more info card does?
I don’t use it myself but I seen it in a video.
