It would be nice to have an option in the Settings page of an entity, maybe in the Advanced Settings under Entity status, to have a toggle to record the history.
To save on space and Disk IO I setup the recorder as a whitelist and would manually add the entities I wanted to record.
I found it tedious to constantly grab the entity_id and add it to my recorder.yaml file.
I then set up the recorder to be a blacklist and added all the items I did NOT want to record.
As integrations updated they would add new entities and I found it tedious to constantly grab the entity_id and add it to my recorder.yaml file.
