WTH, can't we get better ways to view and manipulate to-do lists?

When I’m viewing my to-do lists (both in the to-do screen and in dashboard cards), I’d like to be able to apply filters, custom views, and sorting by alpha/date/priority.

I’d like to be able to use a to-do dashboard card to only view a configurable relevant filter subset of a to-do list, with a custom heading displayed on it.

I’d also like the addition of other CalDAV fields such as tags, or start dates - but any improvements to to-do would be great.

The shopping list is not really usable right now if you use it in a big family with lots of items being checked and unchecked often. We like to keep detailed entries for the items that we buy often, so instead of removing and re-adding them, we check and uncheck them, which makes perfect sense. But there is no way of searching the “Completed” list to uncheck a product we need to buy again, or even a way of at least sorting it: you can only sort active items, and you have to do it manually.

What would be needed:

  • A search input. Maybe make the “Add element” show suggestions if there is a match while typing, and click them to “uncheck” them?
  • An easy way of keeping the list sorted. This includes the Completed items, so it’s easy to explore both lists with some kind of order. It would be nice if we had different sort orders, but just adding alphabetic would help a lot.

There’s a sort method but, again, it doesn’t work for Completed items, and here have been multiple tries to fix this in automations without success. It’s something relatively simple that would make this feature receive some of the love it deserves, both in the todo and the shopping lists, which are similar.
Thanks!

show todo/shopping lists some love!!

Currently the UI for TODO’s can’t easily sort big lists. For example I got a big list of things we need to do for the house renovation. I can simply add things and manually sort it. But it requires a lot of dragging.

My suggestion would be to implement sorting options:

  • Priority
  • Alphabetical
  • Creation date
  • Time remaining

For priority I would suggest to do it like Steam wishlish does it. Next beside the todo a number would appear you can add a number to it and then it will jump that item in the list. Everything below that number will jump a number up.

I would like to be able to view my HA shopping list on my smartwatch.

I used to be able to do this by linking the Alexa shopping list with Todoist, and Todoist to HA. Todoist supplied the smartwatch part. Obviously that no longer works.

So, my WTH is: can we have an easy way to assign the Todoist (or any other list integration) shopping list to be the ‘default’ HA shopping list? Or alternatively, an easy way to sync the HA shopping list with another integration?

Thanks!

I also would like a to-do list card which is much more configurable depending on the need. Current card is taking up to much space.
