WTH can't we have devices 'owned' by Google Assistant controlled by HASS?

I have a bunch of devices that are reachable by Google Assistant. Most of them are lights and such, and I was hopeful that I’d be able to use Tuya-Convert. Since the most recent firmware, tuya-convert has lost most of it’s usefulness (short of disassembling bulbs and serial flashing them).

So the question is, if Google Assistant ‘owns’ the device and can manage it effectively… as in Hey Google, turn the driveway lights on… then why can’t HASS send that same command based on triggers that it knows about?

If someone knows a way to do this, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

At a guess: because Google assistant has a proscriptive API.

That’s very likely a limitation imposed by Google (who’s rather draconian in limiting their “IOT” products from being open) and not just not-implemented feature in HA. Though I could be wrong.
