Pretty simple: WTH can’t we see timers set by voice within HA?
I’d love to set a timer and then be able to watch it countdown (numbers and not percentage of a ring) on a tablet in the kitchen while cooking. Extra points for showing multiple timers and the names of the timers.
Currently they store them on each individual device (I have no idea who made that call I’m sure it made sense to them at the time) but it certainly looks like they know it’s busted. From what I can tell there is already some kind of plan to move them to something that is callable centrally, saw it while I was reading other voice stuff - if I find the item on git I’ll post it below.
Also blocks any alarms - needs the central timers first.
There is a way to do this using pyscript which can get, create and delete timers.
Even though I use this, I would love to see support for this natively on Home Assistant.
Yes! My household has been phasing out Google Home (and Nest hubs) in favor of Home Assistant, but the timer experience on the Nest Hub is currently difficult to replicate with Home Assistant.
I’d love to be able to display any running timers in a room on the pixel clock in that same room, for example, but it’s currently pretty difficult to do. I could also picture having a dashboard on a display that automatically shows running timers for the house, or just the room, or just a certain device—or having the lights in the kitchen pulse while a timer is going off (good for accessibility or just when I’m wearing headphones!). And it’d be nice to be able to check the Home Assistant app on my phone when I’ve stepped way from the room the timer is running in to check up on its progress.
