It would be great to be able to attach a history chart of a sensor (as a png image) to a notification rather than just sending the current value.

Yes. Mine was the second comment on that FR.
There are lots of notifications I send where more contextual data would be helpful. E.g. The refrigerator is above a predetermined threshold, it would be helpful to see a graph of the temperature. This data does or could already exist in a lovelace card. I think the easiest way to support this use case would be allowing the creation of an image entity that is populated by a lovelace card. I know there’s some complexity of how the image renders based on device (computer vs phone vs tablet) but I don’t really care which default is selected as it will be rescaled on the mobile notification anyway and should be fine enough to get the gist.
