WTH Display Name for all Energy Dashboard entities

While it is possible to use a Display Name for Individual devices, it is not possible to set a Display Name for:

  • Electricity grid
  • Solar panels
  • Home battery storage
  • Gas consumption
  • Water consumption

Make customization of dashboards easy and intuitive is in the Roadmap, and to make default dashboards more useful and relevant - a bit of love directed towards the Energy Dashboard to have Display Names for all entities used would do that.

Meanwhile you can use Energy Flow Card Plus from HACS for customisation

Energy Flow Card Plus is great, though it doesn’t allow for multiple solar arrays despite the Solar Config including One or a list of Entity IDs providing a state with the value of solar production - there are a few discussions topics and feature requests asking for it though so fingers crossed.
