WTH - do scenes do not have an active state

I would love to be able to check if a scene is currently active.

This way I can create better automations to improve the following scenario:

When outside illumination is low, I trigger an automation to set a scene for the living room + connecting kitchen. This is an ambient scene with low lighting. It happens quite often that I start cooking before the automation triggers, this means that the lights in the kitchen are at 100%.

In the current setup I cannot check the active scenes so the automation runs the ambient scene again, meaning I have to manually run the cooking scene again. If I could check the active scene I could use that info in the automation and handle these kind of scenarios.

Duplicate of WTH is it hard to detect if a scene is active, or group multiple scenes as variations
