WTH Do state_images have a translucent circle appear around them when tapped (Chrome)?

Why does a translucent circle appear around tapped state_image on a picture elements card?

The state_image is a png with a transparent background. If I click on a blank part of the screen it disappears. It doesn’t happen on the companion app, this is on a Chrome browser.

Can the translucent area be made transparent or removed please?

It is not transparrent (depends somehow on theme selected) and it just might be less visible on companion app due to theme. It is extremely annoying and is present since ~100.x version. See screenshot below how ugly it looks with my theme:

So I’m in! Please remove!
