I wanted to use a Template Lock to represent my garage door which can only be controlled via one button to move it in the opposite direction (or stop it while moving). Additionally I installed a window and tilt sensor to monitor the current state, so I am not relying on optimistic mode.
But, I was surprised to learn that template-based locks only support “lock” and “unlock” actions, but not “open” (unlatch ) with the additional UI confirmation like other natively integrated locks.
I would really like to see “open” action support in template locks. Thanks in advance and merry christmas!

Because the lock platform is represented on the UI with the following additional button for actually opening the door which requires two presses:

That’s vscode extension that needs an update and that isn’t managed by HA.
