WTH - does[n't] the android companion app do less when phone in power saving mode?

It might be helpful for the companion app to lower the frequency of sensor updates (or disable and then re-enable a custom selection of sensors) when a phone is put into power-saving mode.

your phone already handles that actually, as the app uses Work Manager for sensor updates it will slow them down when the phone feels it is necessary.
