WTH does the (Sonos) media player not support playback of mixed audio clips

Some media player devices, like Sonos, support the playback of audio clips that are mixed with the current playing content.

This is ideal for small TTS announcements without the full loss/pause of audio of the playing content.

It’s a limitation of the local UPnP API that Sonos exposes. This feature is (only) available through their cloud API. Check GitHub - jjlawren/sonos_cloud: Sonos cloud API integration for Home Assistant with improved TTS/alerts handling for a custom component that implements this.
