WTH doesn't the Notifications panel close after I dismiss the last item?

  • Let’s say that there is a new notification, beautifully highlighted by a colorful dot with some number over a bell.

  • I click on that icon which brings up the Notifications panel to show details of whatever was worth being notified about.

  • I deal with this information, then click on the Dismiss link.

  • If that was the last (or only) notification, now I’m looking at an empty panel. All I can do now is click or tap on the left-chevron to close the panel.

  • So, why not close the panel automatically after the last item is dismissed?

I know, it’s only one extra click, but WTH?

Agreed. Good question.
