It would be great if the generic thermostat could be configured with a heater and a cooler and work like say the ecobee integration. Set the switch entity for a heater and the entity for an air-conditioner and the card allows for temperature setting and range, then turn on the respective entity if heating or cooling.
If you set the heat mode and the cold mode, you can select the minimum and maximum temperature. As long as it stays in that range it won’t do anything. If it goes below the minimum, it will start to heat and if it exceeds the maximum, it will start to cool.
It really works like an automatic mode.
no, it does not, what is asked here. As there is only one entity possible to control - a heater or a HVAC switch.
The only thermostat, which can control two entities - a heater and a cooler, comes from HACS
