I made some progress on this steep learning curve by adding-on the VS Code - thumbs up guys.
*
Now I copy over a single file with breeze, again, nice job.
*
Then I see something requires HACS installed, now that involves copying a uncompressed folder,
*
And boy oh boy I have been stuck for 2 whole days without a clue.
Like WTH this should have been easy, could we add an upload button or something. (you may have security concerns, it’s ok just make a warning message and let us earthlings click “confirm”)
*
I have tried to move over the HACS.zip with success, but then there’s no way to unzip it inside the VS Code.
I also tried to SSH inside the HA, but it seem to drop port 22 connections.
*
Like WTH. This sad earthling is crying.
The easiest way to do this would probably be to install the SAMBA addon, so you can just open the entire config folder in your file explorer as a network folder. Then you can just drag and drop files and folders into that directory.
Thanks I have tried that SAMBA and the FTP something,
but they all just won’t come up…
Like if I click the start, it tries to come up, but then it is not up…
I don’t even know where to check the Add-on’s logs and WTH happened…
*
PS:
The environment is
Raspberry Pi 4.
With the HASSIO official/ typical installation, the one that on a microSD.
with wired connection to router.
The HA version is the latest of August (114.2 I guess), as I saw and click that update yesterday.
Go to the “Supervisor” page, then click on “Samba Share”, then at the top are tabs for configuration and logs. If you didn’t see the “Logs” tab, you probably didnt see the “Configuration” one either, so I’d bet it’s not starting because it’s not configured properly.
You can check here for what you need to configure.
OMG!
You made my day!
Finally seeing it, yeah those tabs are pretty informative.
Also watching a Youtube video saying typing that //192.168.1.6 in a folder to access it like a ftp.
Very nice!
FYI, HACS is not part of core home assistant. It is s custom integration.
