WTH iCloud=dead?

So, as many people may do!, I use iCloud to track a couple of devices to use in HA. To my surprize, the actual integration is completely broken due to incomplete handling of re-authenticating every … weeks. After a certain time of worry-free use of the integration (although getting an email every day is an annoyance), Apple requires a re-confirmation this access is ok.

If I say ok, I get a code to enter in HA (which I can’t)

If I say not ok, after several attempts the HA integration tells me to re-authenticate.
If I do I can enter my credentials and Apple starts nagging again about entering that 6-digit code again.

There seems to be a stale github topic for this, and I see people considering to start using the (stale?) icloud3 integration that is on HACS, but come on… a platform that is so common?

Check out iCloud3

Same thing happens to me. What I do is I delete .storage / icloud folder and redo everything. As far as I know, that’s all I can do. iCloud is more convenient than iCloud3. I wish somebody would fix this. I am thinking probably with generating app specific password that iCloud offers.

Icloud3 is not"stale".
