WTH Is it almost impossible to add a new entity to a lovelace card on an android phone

When I try to edit the lovelace UI to add an additional entity to a card - its next to impossible to select it in the drop down box. If I then do select it when I hit save it isn’t saved. I have to switch in and out of the raw mode.

Same on IOS. I have given up adding entities in the Lovelace uI on my iPad. I always have to start up a computer.
