I really would like to contribute with the developments of HA. Although there is a very good documentation, it is hard for a non pro IT developer to get started. A training course (different levels and topics) could help. A subscription fee would be fair to cover the cost of the trainers and support Nabu Casa.
In the same boat here - kind of. A good start is to actually buy a book or watch youtube videos on how to use Github as well. I am a technically savvy past-life programmer and my daughter bought me a book on GitHub as a birthday gift but I have been so crammed I don’t even have the time to read the darned thing.
A series of video tutorials on setting up the development environment, HA architecture, building an integration and submitting PRs would be great.
Also when to start an architecture discussion, e.g. is it required if you want to add a new device class like a binary sensor class for a gate (we already have have windows and doors).
