WTH is restoring scene snapshots for light groups still not working properly?

As the title says: WTH is this issue still not being resolved?

Scenes are an elementary feature for lights and it would be nice if this issue could get a little bit more priority

It’s not seen as an issue, marcel described what you need to do when restoring states. For different light levels and colors, you need to list out each light in the light group. The group combines all light values together and the scene only see’s the top light and it’s combined settings.

Yeah, would be a workaround if it actually would work, but it clearly does not.
Actually it does not even matter if you choose the light group or if you choose the specific lights, the result is always that the light color and brightness does not match the state before/after the snapshot was being taken.

Assuming you are using a native light group and not one that syncs all lights (which would also mess things up), this sounds more like a problem with the intagration controlling your lights. If so, only the integration builder has a hope of fixing this.

Well, playing around again I now found out that when I take the light’s scene snapshot, then start effects via MQTT: Publish (zigbee2mqtt topic, in my case) and then restore the snapshot, the issue mentioned above occurs.
If I use the same effects via Device/Effect option, the snapshot gets restored as intended.
Weird, but yes, I guess you were right somehow. The issue is dependent on the light steering method used after the snapshot has being taken.
