WTH is there no configure YAML for helpers

The automation and Lovelace card editor have the very useful feature to switch to YAML mode. Why is this not possible for helpers?

The very simple, but for you probably the unsatisfying, answer is: Because it isn’t YAML

Based on the title and the content of your post I may be confused but…

You actually can configure helpers via yaml. I do it exclusively thru yaml and never the UI.

or are you specifically only asking to be able to switch between yaml mode and UI mode from the UI editor?

Yep. However, the UI isn’t using YAML at all for helpers.

But I thought maybe the OP didn’t know you could do it manually.
