It would be really nice to have a helper to track runtime of certain states and have the ability to reset daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and have time format selections. This would be helpful for tracking AC - furnace runtime, media runtime, automation durations, total time used. The list goes on!
History stats can do this if you have your database set up for longer than 10 days.
Yep yep yep! That’s what I am currently using. Unfortunately that takes a little more knowledge for the beginners. Also in order to keep the database small, you have to use includes or excludes. You can use influxdb for long term history stats as well, but if the goal post is set to help with common tasks like the “time of day” , it would be of assistance to have a runtime helper.
