I would like to have more native options of the type of badges we can have in our lovelace views,without the need of custom cards.
Some square, some oval, etc… with the option to have title or subtitle etc…
Some bigger, some smaller…
Actually there are more… behaviour-wise.
For example for some sensors, you cannot set badge’s icon at all. Other doesn’t change color on state change… etc
IMO badges are one of the most forgotten UI features
Custom Badges are possible but no one really has done it. 
Yes, true. Badges are Just like the first day i opened home assistant.
Do you have any idea of what would make them better? We are all ears when it comes to UI updates and I agree. BAdges are 1. Not very good and 2. havent changed at all
Don,t really know the way to do it. But I am thinking on Something like badges for person entities ( square, and bigger then tha actual, but not so big has a card) ;
Badges for timers ( time remaning for Something o we want to know) in this case that would be rectangular, thin and long.
I was thinking too in Something that we could custumize with state.filter, icon.filter, etc…
