I wish there was a way to calibrate my temperature sensors. It’d be nice to be able to set some sort of offset.
I imagine using a temperature gun or something similar to test the temperature and then telling home assistant to decrease the temperature by 1.5 degrees or something.
Compensation integration does this
Indeed, it does, but are you really expecting non advanced users to use it ? A very simple “offset” option for temperature sensors (and maybe a few other identified sensor types) would be much easier to use.
I had this option a few years ago in my old domoticz setup and I found that very valuable.
For what it’s worth, according to the docs, the compensation intergration is used on 47 installations. Not sure a lot of people are ware of this !
