Say you’ve got tons of template sensors. It would be nice to be able to group these into meta “template devices”.

my favorite example: a “dumb” fridge that has a zigbee door sensor, a zigbee temperature sensor and a wifi powerplug to measure power consumption. I would LOVE to be able to create a dedicated device called “fridge”, to simplify automations. I don’t want people to have to create “if zigbee sensor xyz is open, then do…” automations, but i’d love them to be able to just create “if the fridge is open for more than 3 minutes, send me a notification”

There is a workaround.
So depending on whether you really need that, or you have just a random idea,
there is a way how to achieve that with the use of device-tools custom integration.
